Justin's UConn Classes

Okay, I am making this page for quite a few reasons. The first one (and the one I think most of you care about the most) is because lots of people come to me for help with questions about classes here at UConn. With this page I will be posting notes from every class that I go to or (if I was unable to attend) scanned notes from somebody else. I have not yet decided if I want to actually convert the hand-written notes over to actual text documents or if it's going to be better if I just scan them into the system and then you get whatever you can out of my hand writing. I guess I'll decide that as the semester progresses... Before anybody suggests that I just take notes on the computer... I have tried this and it does not work for me at all. Way too many distractions or something, even when I am only using VI to do the writing.

The other purpose of this page is so that it will provide even more incentive for me to go to class rather than sleeping or sitting in my dorm coding! Not that I have ever done that..... O:-). If I go to class it means that I will actually be gathering content for the site, which sounds a lot cooler than "sitting there being bored". Plus, this page will help me to keep all of my stuff organized better and if I lose my paper notes (hey, it does happen...) I can just go to my own site and download the versions on here! Hey, I am liking this idea more and more as I think about it...

Anyway, the stuff you can expect to find here are:

  • Notes - from each class. Keep in mind that they will be notes that are helpful to ME, because those are the notes I take. If you don't like my notes, go to class yourself
  • Homework Assignments - because some professors don't post the assignments on their websites, this will help anybody who would constantly ask me "do we have any homework?!?!", check here first. If it ain't posted, I don't know about it. Conversely, if you know about an assignment that was set up and ISNT posted here, please please IM or email me and I'll put it up on here and be very grateful to you for saving me from missing an assignment.

Please realize that I have no intention of posting the ANSWERS to homework problems here right away. I will most likely post the answers that I have to specific problems immediately before tests that are on those assignments so that you can use them to help you study, but if you intend to use this site to copy my answers.... it is not going to work. If a professor specifically requests that I do not post answers at all, then I will refrain from posting the answers until the semester is completely over (final exams are all done).
  • Rants / Side Stories - I will most likely post rants about any particular horrible quizzes / tests on my personal blog. But also along with the notes I will most likely include links to other resources about that particular topic that I found useful or that are in some way related if you are actually interested in the field.
